I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

Pat Robertson: I'd say something, but I suppose I'll leave it to Israel

One of my New Years resolutions was to try even harder to be more open minded and see both sides of each situation, as a pundit, before passing judgement. But I have to admit that it's a struggle to find anything positive to say about Pat Robertson. Today Joe Gandelman points us to some news about Israel finally deciding not to do business with Robertson.
Pat Robertson sharing his latest message from God — his suggestion that ailing Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is being punished by Him — is going to cost him a business deal. The Israelis are not amused, according to the AP:
It seems there are limits for everything. I can't say I'm very surprised about this.
Avi Hartuv, spokesman for Israel's tourism minister, said officials are furious with Robertson's suggestion that the stroke was retribution for Sharon's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip last summer. "We can't accept this kind of statement," Hartuv said.

Robertson is leading a group of evangelicals who have pledged to raise $50 million to build the Christian Heritage Center in Israel's northern Galilee region, where tradition says Jesus lived and taught.

Pat Robertson... well past his "best served by" date.
