I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

The Oregonian on Minnis

The Oregonian has an article this morning on how Democrats aim to topple Minnis. It starts out badly:
A "get Minnis" campaign has caught fire among Democrats and critics of Oregon's no-nonsense House speaker.
When the first sentence describes Minnis as "Oregon's no-nonsense House speaker" you know it's going to be a long read. Minnis is all wingnut nonsense all of the time.

The rest of the article isn't much better with Minnis being given a chance to whine about personal attacks and her campaign consultant, Chuck Adams, being given a quarter of the article.

Minnis can be defeated but she has a couple of things going for her.

  • The flat earth wingnuts will support her and they will vote.

  • She will once again have a lot of money from the corporate interests she supports.
We have to find a good candidate to run against her and take a look at the east county voters. Avoid the gay rights issues, that will work in Minnis' favor in east county, and concentrate on her support of corporate interests that went against the best interests of the voters. Most of all we need to follow the advice Jazz gives us in his post below and get people out to vote.
