I would add that the obstruction of justice alleged in this case kept us from knowing material things about our leaders at the moment we were deciding whether to keep them in office. In more common speech, obstruction of justice is a coverup, and the coverup worked -- just as the Watergate coverup in 1972 kept facts from the public that would have guaranteed Richard Nixon's defeat. One more reason for us to despise Judith Miller.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

Why did Libby do what he did?, Oliphant edition
As we reported below E. J. Dionne thinks Libby's actions to interfere with Fitzgerald's investigation was all about the 2004 election. Well Tom Oliphant is on the same page, The coverup worked. While he covers much of the same material as Dionne, it's still worth a read. This paragraph sums it up well.
