I needed a break!

I needed a break from the news today so I took a walk at a local wildlife refuge.

This is a fawn lily Erythronium oregonum. They don't last long but are a spring treat for a week or two.


This Killdeer built a nest in the middle of a gravel access road. I'm not sure what Darwin would think of this.
