I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

Chavez gets what Bush thinks he has

The wingers will make a big deal of this but how different is it from the "unitary executive" favored by the Federalists.
Chavez gets powers to rule by decree
CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela's Congress on Wednesday granted President Hugo Chavez powers to rule by decree for 18 months as he tries to force through a package of nationalizations key to his self-styled leftist revolution.
At least Chavez was up front and didn't just use signing statements.
