Ceasefire

Not content to put US soldiers in harms way with a lie Bush may have put them in a great deal more danger by arranging a ceasefire.
Leaders in Iraq Strongly Rebuke Israel
Several prominent Iraqi clerics and officials today delivered their stiffest rebuke yet of Israeli airstrikes, condemning civilian casualties in Lebanon as shootings, bombings, and mass kidnappings continued to plague Iraq.

Vice President Adil Abdul-Mahdi, a Shiite, described the Irsaeli bombing that killed dozens of civilians in Qana, Lebanon, this weekend as a “massacre.” Echoing earlier statements made by Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki, he said Iraqis of all sects were unified against the carnage and eager for a cease-fire.

“These horrible massacres carried out by the Israeli aggression, like what happened at Qana, incite in us a spirit of solidarity,” Mr. Abdul Mahdi said in a speech at a memorial for Ayatollah Muhammad Bakr al-Hakim, a revered cleric who was killed three years ago. “It’s time for this nation to stand up and stop this aggression.”

Iraqi Cleric Demands Cease-Fire in Lebanon
BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Iraq's top Shiite cleric demanded an immediate cease-fire in Lebanon, warning Sunday that the Muslim world will ``not forgive'' nations that stand in the way of stopping the fighting.

Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani issued the call following the Israeli airstrike that killed at least 56 Lebanese, mostly women and children, in the village of Qana. It was the deadliest attack in nearly three weeks of fighting.

``Islamic nations will not forgive the entities that hinder a cease-fire,'' al-Sistani said in a clear reference to the United States.

``It is not possible to stand helpless in front of this Israeli aggression on Lebanon,'' he added. ``If an immediate cease-fire in this Israeli aggression is not imposed, dire consequences will befall the region.''
In addition US "allies" in the region, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan have all condemned Israel. The only ceasefire Bush policy may pull off is one that will further endanger US troops in Iraq. The ceasefire will be between the Shiite and Sunni factions in Iraq - between each other so they can concentrate on the 137000 American infidels. There is a very real danger that the Iraqi Security Forces will also turn on the US troops.

The total mindless incompetence of the cabal in charge would be amusing if it wasn't destroying the US and resulting in so many deaths.
