Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi arrived at the presidential palace Tuesday to hand in his resignation, a formal step that will make way for a center-left government led by Romano Prodi. In a strange parallet to the situation in England, where Bush lap-dog Tony Blaire has somehow remained in power, Berlusconi held on to his position for several years while propping up Bush's position in Iraq against the wishes of a majority of Italians who opposed the war.Berlusconi arrived at the Quirinale Palace after leading a Cabinet meeting during which he announced his resignation. After handing in his resignation to President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, Berlusconi is expected to be asked to stay on temporarily as caretaker.
Bush can likely expect a far cooler reception in the future should he visit Italy again.
Now we just need to get rid of Blaire....
