Taking Back the Country and the party

It is becoming obvious that the national Democratic party is not up to the task of taking back the country for progressive causes and the people. We have had nothing but capitulation to George W. Bush for five years. In part because of fear and in part the result of incompetence. We have leading Democratic senators who sound like more like neocons a than Democrats. I not just talking about Joe Lieberman but Hillary Clinton as well. Here in Oregon we had our own Representative, David Wu, vote in favor of the bankruptcy bill in spite of the fact that 16 of his 27 major contributors were labor unions. The very constituency that will be hurt by the bill. We must take back the country on a local level. That means we must not only battle to defeat Republicans but also Democrats that don't represent the core values of Democrats. The Democratic party in it's current configuration will be little if any better than a Republican controlled House and Senate.
