I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

Post Election thoughts

The elections in Virginia and New Jersey have plenty of coverage by people on the east coast who actually know something about them so I'll defer to others. I think it is safe to say it was not a good night for the Republicans or the pResident. The California election is more significant to me here in Oregon as the politics in that state seem to leak over the border. California's steroid inflated Nazi governor was shot down. It was also the second loss in a week for Grover Norquist. I think it's safe to say that Arnold is a lame duck who can be ignored by the legislators until he is drummed out of office in a year.

On the same day that Kansas Education Board voted to include "Intelligent Design" and return the students of Kansas to the middle ages the voters of Dover Pennsylvania voted out all of the school board members who had advocated such a move.
All eight members up for re-election to the Pennsylvania school board that had been sued for introducing the teaching of intelligent design as an alternative to evolution in biology class were swept out of office yesterday by a slate of challengers who campaigned against the intelligent design policy.
