This post is primarily for those of you who come to Middle Earth from house.gov and senate.gov. Yes, sitemeter doesn't tell me who you are but it does tell me where you are coming from. The Democrats have been up against a Republican Party and an administration that turns everything into a divisive political battle. The Democrats have been sitting out the game and losing by default. It's time to ignore the DLC wankers like Marshall Wittmann and get in the game. It's a game you can win now. Harry Reid took a step in the right direction earlier in the week and for once, much to the dismay of Mr Wittmann, are actually using the L word in reference to the administration propaganda blitz in the lead up to the invasion of Iraq. A good start, but there is another front in this political war. That front is the nomination of Judge Alito to the SCOTUS. The Republicans have used Roe VS Wade as a wedge issue for 30 years much to their advantage. The situation has changed and now the Democrats can use it to their advantage as a wedge issue and should do so. Like Marshall Wittmann, I don't like it but it's reality. It's time to fight the war that was started by Karl Rove and the Republicans. Public opinion is on the Democrats side and they can win the war. But only if they step up and fight.
