Over at Running Scared Jazz takes a look at E.J.Dionne's commentary on the Democrats. I agree for the most part. The Democrats are a colony of single interest groups and it's hard to figure out where they stand.
At the Washington Post Harold Meyerson has a column on the some of the real problems of resulting from the outsourcing frenzy, Outsourcing Our Safety. He starts out using the safety issues that came to light because of the Jet Blue incident but gets to the real meat of the issue latter.
As Lynn sees it, our age is defined by two epochal decompositions -- that of the nation that sought to steer its own economic policy, and that of the vertically integrated corporation in which shareholders, managers, workers and the community all had a stake and from which they all benefited. "The two great economic planning entities of the twentieth century were chased from the stage at almost the exact same moment.
