On Crooks, Liars and polls

While the media still refers to George W. Bush as the "popular president" the Washington Post-ABC poll released yesterday would seem to indicate the public thinks otherwise. I thought I would compare the approval ratings of the ever popular George Bush and that president that everyone loved to hate Bill Clinton. I selected the first five months of the second term for both.

It doesn't look like he's all that popular to me. Well he is popular with corporate America. The crook and liar meter nearly went off scale today.

• Exxon dictated the Bush Administrations Global Warming Policy

and

• A White House official who once led the oil industry's fight against limits on greenhouse gases has repeatedly edited government climate reports in ways that play down links between such emissions and global warming, according to internal documents.
• Even the judge wonders if there are political considerations in the governments decision to reduce the amount of money they are asking from the tabacco industry.

and

• And even the Republicans think there is something fishy with the Boeing Tanker deal.

And then of course there is the Downing Street Memo.
