I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

Hillary in 08?

Via Atrios
Jerome at MyDD has some interesting numbers on a Hillary run is 08.
Hillary Clinton (D) 46%
Jeb Bush (R) 35%
Other/Unsure 19%

Hillary Clinton (D) 41%
George Pataki (R) 35%
Other/Unsure 24%

Hillary Clinton (D) 40%
Bill Frist (R) 33%
Other/Unsure 27%

and

Rudy Giuliani (R) 49%
Hillary Clinton (D) 38%
Other/Unsure 13%

John McCain (R) 53%
Hillary Clinton (D) 37%
Other/Unsure 10%
These numbers are from FOX News/Opinion Dynamics. Oddly the first 3 were polls were taken before the Kerik fiasco and the second 2 after. Looking at Jeb's numbers it would appear that people have had enough of the Bush family. They also realize that Frist is too stupid to be president in addition to being too stupid to be a doctor. The Giuliani number should make Jazz happy and McCain does better than anyone. I see the current crop of wingnuts still in charge of the Republican party in 2008 so I don't give either McCain or Giuliani much of a chance at the nomination. Should a social moderate win the nomination you can expect to see a wingnut 3rd party candidate that would siphon off a lot of votes from the Republican nominee. Much of the Democratic base has no use for Hillary so I don't see her getting the nomination either.
