I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers. I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

A splash of color
For much of the year the forests of Western Oregon are mostly green - beautiful but a bit monotonous. But for a few short weeks in the fall the vine maple turns electric.
This has a beautiful painterly quality to it, and would make a gorgeous wallhanging. I am tempted to ask for permission to make a quilt with the image.
