One Bush Groupie down

Now I don't mind that George W. Bush has groupies but I do object to the fact that they are incompetent and he has put them in positions of authority for which they have no qualifications. Unfortunately Condoleezza Rice is still around but Karen Hughes is gone - again. Digby talks about Hughes:

Ezra Klein once asked something to the effect of "why would Bush send a seven foot tall white woman to aid our public face in the Islamic world?" It's a good question, but more importantly, why would you send a seven foot tall white woman who speaks like a 6th grader to aid our public face in the middle east and convince the entire world that all Americans are as dim-witted as the president and that Osama bin Laden is right?

That sums up the legacy of Karen Hughes pretty well. Hughes said today:

Hughes told The Associated Press that she plans to quit her job as undersecretary of state and return to Texas, although improving the world's view of the United States is a "long-term challenge" that will outlast her.

"This will take a number of years," Hughes said in an interview Tuesday.

Yes, I think that's true. In fact because of she and her boss it will take generations.
