The BBC reports that the good news in Iraq isn't just limited to American troops. The number of violent civilian deaths have dropped dramatically in September to less than half of August, by far the best month of the year:

This is seen by Ed and others on the right as a sign that the "surge" has been a success. Of course as I pointed out here the other day it's really a sign that the ethnic cleansing of Baghdad is nearly complete and that many of the Sunnis are now living in Syria.
