I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

all the rivers flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full

Why would Iraqi insurgents need explosives from Iran?

Every time I hear that I recall the warehouse discovered soon after the invasion that contained 350 tons of Semtex, and C-4 explosives. The invasion commanders decided not to put guards on the warehouse and came back a week later to discover it completely empty.

Now we have the recent case of the missing small arms like 190,000 AK-47s and other infantry equipment allegedly going to Iraqi troops and security forces.

One report on TV said the serial numbers had been removed from the guns before shipment. Why would they do that? Gosh! What are the usual reasons people file serial numbers off guns?

Other recent reports have said that arms and money are flowing from Saudi Arabia across the border into Iraqi Sunni areas. Soon the Bush/Cheney administration will begin shipping the first of a $30,000,000,000 arms package to the Saudis. The unavoidable question in my mind is what percentage of those weapons will cross the border and be issued to Sunni insurgents to use against our soldiers?

Explosives, weapons, money, and men are pouring into Iraq from all over the world.

Author Mohammed Hafez in his book "Suicide Bombers in Iraq" identified the nationalities of 124 bombers. Of those 53 were Saudis, 8 were Italians, 8 Syrians, 7 Kuwaitis, 4 Jordanians, 2 Belgians, 2 French, 2 Spanish, others came from North and East Africa, South Asia and various other Middle Eastern countries. Only 18, or 15% were Iraqis.

In war victory goes to the side that controls the battlefield. The US controls nothing in Iraq.

From mysterious multiple plane loads of American currency, two billion dollars per load,(BBC) whose cargoes disappeared after arriving at Baghdad airport, billions of dollars being poured into reconstruction without anything actually being reconstructed, the Iraqi government on perpetual vacation, all our supposed allies like the Saudis playing a double game and betraying us, incompetent military leaders allowing enough explosives to last a hundred years to fall into enemy hands, and now a virtual gift of 190,000 AK-47s and other infantry equipment to the insurgents by the Bush/Cheney maladministration is a just too too much.

The scale and complexity of the incompetence and corruption of the Iraq war and the Bush/Cheney administration is just too much for an ordinary guy like me to keep up with I can't stand it any more.

I want those bastards impeached right now. Not next week. Now.
