With a few more troops and some pixie dust....

So I listened to Bush's speech. Not a new plan - not a new way forward - not a change in strategy, simply stay the course with more troops which can't be maintained for any length of time. A tactical tweak at most. It all depends on the nearly powerless Iraqi government and the police and military who are part of the problem.
Oregon's Republican Senator Gordon Smith was interviewed on NPR after the speech and said he thinks Bush is wrong but hopes it's he who is wrong instead.

This President and his administration have run out of ideas and are doing the only thing they can do, send a few more troops for a very short time.
