I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

'Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.'

George W. Bush likes to quote the Bible. There must be some who wish he had read the above in Galatians VI. The Rovian political machine has done a lot of sowing the last 6 years and the administration is now reaping the hateful weeds that have sprung up as a result. Rove and the Bush administration sowed the seeds of hate and fear against Muslims and Arabs for political gain. Everything changed after 911 they tell us so we must be able to torture those brown skinned bipeds from the middle east inferring they are somewhat less than human and can't be trusted so it's OK. I doubt that Dubai Ports World's management of American ports will present anymore of a security risk than the administration's policy of simply ignoring the risk. But 64% of the American people don't see it that way. It's not the Republican lawmakers Bush has to convince that the port takeover is OK it's the American people. I suspect that 18 months ago he could have done it but after the twin debacles of Terri Schiavo and Social Security in addition to the obvious fact that Iraq is a lost cause the spin machine is damaged. Bush is rapidly going from a lame duck to a quadriplegic and it's a result of what his administration has sowed. Many of us have been saying for the last five years that the Bush administration was really good at politics but really bad at governing. It now appears they are not very good at either.
