I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

In the Navy, we used to call it damage control

When a hole springs open in the hull, you don't stand around wringing your hands and worrying if the ship will sink... you start plugging holes before the ship goes down. That seems to be the theory among the Bush administration this week as Dirty Jack Abramoff prepares to sing like a canary.
Aides to President George W. Bush are trying to identify all the photos that may exist of the President and lobbyist Jack Abramoff together, TIME’s White House Correspondents Mike Allen and Matt Cooper report in Monday editions, RAW STORY has learned. From TIME
While we can't be positive, this seems to be a sign that Scotty McClellan may have jumped the gun a little too fast when he claimed that Bush doesn't even know Abramoff, and probably never even met him except for a handshake line at some big event. I wonder... through the wonders of Google and the inquisitive minds of the blogosphere, somebody has to be able to come up with a nice chummy photo of those two, don't you think?

If nothing else, I'm sure Jack has some in his personal stash. And since his GOP buddies are scrambling away from him like he just announced he's got herpes, good old Abramoff may as well have some fun with this and bring down some big fish to share his jail cell. Maybe they can all play canasta together the next seven to twenty years.
