I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

The Republicans worst nightmare......

.....Jack Abramoff singing like a bird to spend a little less time in the cage.
It looks like that is what the Rethuglicans have to look forward to next year. And just in time for the 2006 midterms.
Lobbyist Nears Terms on Plea Deal
WASHINGTON, Dec. 21 - Jack Abramoff, the Republican lobbyist under indictment for fraud in South Florida, is expected to complete a plea agreement in the Miami criminal case, setting the stage for him to become a crucial witness in a broad federal corruption investigation, people with direct knowledge of the case said.

One participant in the case said the deal could be made final as early as next week.
And Tom DeLay thought he had trouble in Texas. And speaking of Texas, DeLay's bid for quick trial rejected.
HOUSTON (Reuters) - A Texas appeals court on Thursday rejected a bid by U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay to get a speedy trial on a money-laundering charge lodged against the powerful Republican lawmaker.

DeLay had sought an quick trial on the charge in the hopes that an acquittal would allow him to return to his post as U.S. House of Representatives Majority Leader next month.
That should help the Republicans who are attempting to unseat him.
