I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

I'm not alone

I'm not alone, in fact I have some really good company in finding inspiration in Science Fiction. One of my favorites has always been Isacc Asimov's Foundation Trilogy. In fact I had been re-reading it for at least the fourth time when Bill in DC brought to my attention that Paul Krugman admitted:
Science fiction - specifically, Isaac Asimov's Foundation - is what got me into economics in the first place.
I have been an Asimov fan for most of my adult life and the work of Frank Herbert, The Dune series, has without a doubt had an impact on how I look at the world. I think that Science Fiction allows thoughts to flow without limits. Just what we need.
