Cheney Denounces Critics of Iraq War
Vice President Cheney last night accused Democratic senators who allege that the Bush administration distorted intelligence to justify the war in Iraq of engaging in "one of the most dishonest and reprehensible charges ever aired in this city."This comes on the same day that Senator Chuck Hagel criticized the Bush administration's attack on Democrats. With 75% of the American public now thinking that Cheney is a liar his statements may make the shrinking base happy but will further divide the administration for the American people.
Speaking before a Washington dinner of the Frontiers of Freedom Institute, a conservative research organization, Cheney said that Democrats who say they were misled by the administration are "making a play for political advantage in the middle of a war."
Update
Joe Gandelman questions the wisdom of using Cheney as an attack dog.
