I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

Forget Roe VS Wade

Joe Gandelman has an excellent post today, Bush And The Democratic Party Are Both Ailing, I suggest you go read the whole thing. He concludes with this:
Bush's numbers are down among his supporters. Many traditional conservatives won't fall on their sword for their party. And the largely silent Democrats won't fall on their sword for principle (because, after all, Harriet Miers might not try to overturn Roe Versus Wade — which as we know is the only issue at play here).
Joe zeros in on the problem here, the real trouble with Harriet Miers isn't how she might vote on Roe VS Wade, it's everything else. Although we can't be sure it certainly appears she may be a Bush cultist, AKA a rubber stamp for all things Bush on the Supreme Court. She certainly gives every indication that she is a corporatist who will take the side of large corporations over what is in the best interests of the American People. Supporting her because she "might" vote to uphold Roe VS Wade is anti-progressive and just plane stupid. OK ladies, I'm a guy and I can't possible understand! Let me have it with both barrels, but I'll say it again: forget Roe VS Wade. If you don't we will all be sorry.
