In order to see which way the wind from the Rovian spin machine might be blowing I watched that vile John Gibson on FOX news. Apparently the administration realizes that blaming local Democratic office holders for the Katrina bungles isn't going to be enough. After some rather mild criticism of Louisiana Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco and New Orleans mayor Ray Nagin, Gibson attacked the federal effort in response to Katrina and said that Bush should add two words to his vocabulary; "your fired". He specifically mentioned FEMA director Michael Brown and gave examples of his failures. He said there were probably others that should go and one has to wonder if he was referring to Homeland Security head Michael Chertoff.
The wind is certainly not blowing in a favorable direction for Mr. Brown and may not be for Mr. Chertoff.
