I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

The Latte Defense

There's nothing better than a political story that will make you spit coffee all over your monitor except, possibly, a political story about coffee that will make you spit coffee all over your monitor. Huge tip of the hat to Think Progress for this interview with Condi Rice by Bill O'Reilly.

O’Reilly: The truth of the matter is our correspondents at Fox News can’t go out for a cup of coffee in Baghdad.

Rice: Bill, that’s tough. It’s tough. But what — would they have wanted to have gone out for a cup of coffee when Saddam Hussein was in power?

I swear, no comic alive could make up stuff this good. I have a feeling that Jon Stewart is about to sue O'Reilly for infringing on his turf. Except, of course, that when Stewart does it it's satire. When O'Reilly does it, it's the Bush administration in all its glory.
