Biden Says U.S. Forces in Iraq Insufficient to Fight Insurgents
Aug. 7 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. doesn't have enough military forces in Iraq to quell the insurgency and can rely on only about 3,000 Iraqi troops to go into combat without significant American support, Democratic Senator Joseph Biden said.We don't want you in the Democratic Party Joe. Your appearances on FAUX News are hurting the party. Wake up Joe! Even if it would help, and it won't, we can't send more troops to Iraq because we don't have any.
Following a week in which 32 U.S. military personnel were killed in fighting, Biden, the senior Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said the forces deployed in Iraq are insufficient to drive insurgents from their strongholds and stabilize the territory.
``We don't have enough troops,'' Biden, of Delaware, said today on the ``Fox News Sunday'' program. ``We haven't had it from two years ago, a year ago, six months ago.''
