Joe Gandelman has a rundown on how various candidates are positioning themselves for the 2008 Presidential nomination.
First we have Mitt Romney doing an arithmetic shift right*
Mr. Romney took conservative positions on two controversial subjects - abortion and the morning-after pill - that appeared to contradict the more moderate stances
he had made in his campaign for governor in 2002 and before.
Another arithmetic shift right* comes from Gov. George E. Pataki of New York
Mr. Pataki announced that he would veto legislation making the so-called morning-after pill available without a prescription.
And after being seriously burnt in the Terri Schiavo fiasco we see Senator Bill Frist do a one digit arithmetic shift left*
Last week, Mr. Frist defied President Bush and many conservative supporters by supporting a bill to increase federal financing for embryonic stem cell research.

Joe didn't mention "man on dog" Rick Santorum but PSToD explains his novel approach of winning the Presidential nomination by losing his race for the Senate.
