Ok... that was a joke. The actual poll in question, however, might just send old Dubya spinning off into another war.
For the umpteenth time, we are left to ponder where all of these people were during the 2004 election, and how sad the world is that it took so long for so many of them to wake up. Be that as it may, however, as fair minded progressives we should be welcoming our newly awakened brothers and sisters with open arms. While it is far too late to salvage the wreckage of the last presidential election, this growing tide of realization can only bode well for progressive prospects in the 2006 mid terms.(CNN) -- Nearly six in 10 Americans oppose the war in Iraq and a growing number of them are dissatisfied with the war on terrorism, according to a CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll released Monday.
Only 39 percent of those polled said they favored the war in Iraq -- down from 47 percent in March -- and 59 percent were opposed.
True, any situation where Bush remains in office is a dangerous one, but taking control of the House and Senate back from the neocon theocracy (which is beginning to look more possible every day) would effectively put some shackles on the madman and limit the damage he can do during his lame duck tenure.
So to that most recent 10% of the country who is finally blinking in the sunlight and smelling the coffee, I say, "Welcome. Glad to have you on board."
