I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

At The American Conservative Pat Buchanan asks, Bushism Imperiled?
The president’s problem is this: a conviction politician, he believes deeply in his ideology and policies. But the country is coming to believe neither is working for America. Either he makes a mid-course correction, or the country will make it for him in 2006.
What happens to the Bush presidency if the Democrats get control of the Senate and or the House? Expect all of the investigations that haven't happened the last six years but should have.

RC at The All Spin Zone talks about the Nuclear Option in Blind Man's Suicide Bluff.
So, this coming week is the week that Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist allegedly maybe possibly might pull a Dr. Strangelove on the Constitution of the United States. Like the suicidal guy perched on the windowsill 300 feet above street level who really doesn't want to jump, he's been threatening for months: “I'm gonna do it!” The "it" in this case is the GOP-inspired phrase, The Nuclear Option™.

The Democratic Party crisis intervention team arrived on the scene quickly after Frist's first cry for help from the windowsill. While lead crisis negotiator Harry Reid has been offering unnecessary promises to talk a reluctant Frist off the ledge, end-timers such as James Dobson and Tony Perkins have been sniping from outside the police barricades, heckling and jeckylling "Jump! Jump! Jump!". Robert Novak snuck up behind Frist and tried to push him this morning, comparing the need to jump with the
selection process in Nazi death camps.
Jump Bill Jump
