I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

It's time for a purge
If the Democratic Party is to survive it needs to do a purge. As upset as I was with the easy confirmations of Condiliar Rice and if they ain't quite dead it's not torture Gonzales the bankruptcy bill has sent me over the edge. A really good place to start the purge would be the Democratic Leadership Conference. As I mentioned this morning, if we look at history since 1992. The Republicans have won by not compromising. The Democrats under the constantly compromising DLC have continued to lose ground. Marshall Whitmann's goal at the DLC is to turn the Democratic Party into what he thinks the Republican Party should be. The next purge targets should be the 18 Democratic Senators who voted for the bankruptcy bill. Over at The Left Coaster larre has a scholarly post on how the bankruptcy bill will reduce or virtually eliminate small business creation. Remember small business? That's where all the new jobs were supposed to come from. We don't need these sellouts to MNMBA. The next target of course would be the 20 Democrats who sent the letter to Dennis Hastert expressing their support for the Bankruptcy Bill. We don't need them, they should be history.
