I would not normally even consider commenting on the Michael Jackson case. It is mostly a freak show of a lunatic who is probably a pedophile.Lost our way indeed.
In watching CNN this morning, something caught my attention and took my disgust in this case to a new level. A kindergarten teacher was being interviewed. She had quit her job of thirteen years to be in L.A. for the court proceedings to support Michael Jackson. This is not a family member, dear friend or even a situation of political and social consequence that deserves such loyalty (ie. Nelson Mandela being on trial). It is the story of a celebrity who is insane, lives a life of total non-reality and who takes advantage of children.
What does it say about someone that they would give up a good job to stand outside of a court house holding a sign that says "Michael Jackson is innocent?" For me, it says that our society is in serious need of a re-evaluation of priorities. Garbage TV like Trump's show and the Bachelor, elections that turn on sloganeering and deception, music devoid of talent, but shock full of decadent behavior, a disrespect for basic human decency, and lost souls giving up their lives to stand by a millionaire child molester.
We have lost our way in many respects and it is a long road back.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

The First and Last on Michael Jackson
Like most in the Blogosphere™ I look with disgust at the attention being paid to the Michael Jackson case on the Cable Tabloid Networks. Scott over at Poetic Leanings has a good take on what's really wrong.
