911, Dresden and Hiroshima--Some Final Words

What constitutes terrorism? This is the question I asked in my post 911, Dresden and Hiroshima. Like most posts, this would have gone unnoticed if it had not been picked up by the Daou Report. The post was based on a commentary by Anthony Gregory, Targeting Civilians at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. While I simply don't agree with much of Mr Gregorys' commentary I thought that it asked some very important questions. The post was also picked up by The Liberal Avenger and a lively discussion developed both there and here. The discussion itself was enlightening and went a long ways towards explaining the current state of the world. Once again it comes down to black and white, good VS evil arguments. One commenter, Will, who I fear is far more representative than we would like to think, summed it up.

The Jihadists seek to impose Sharia on the world, anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't read their press releases. We're not as safe and cosey as we thought we were. I thought 9/11 showed that. You can't foster tolerance and understanding with people who want only to kill you. Why can't you people see that?

If you believe that Will there is not any possibility of arguing with you. I'm sure the Islamists feel the same way and that's why we are at war.

"We are good and they are evil", not much room for negotiaion there. It is too bad that the Abrahamic religions dominate world culture. They are by their very nature good VS evil which can only lead to conflict.
