I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

Accountability

Bull Moose has some thoughts on accountability CBS style and Bush administration style.
In the next news cycle, the right will be in full-throated schedenfreude over the CBS report on memogate. Now that CBS has fired four employees for this mess, the right will still want more pounds of flesh from the network.

Here's the Moose's question - why hasn't the Bush Administration demonstrated one iota of the accountability on Iraq that was shown by CBS on memogate? Every day it becomes clearer that Iraq has become a disaster on the watch of Rumsfeld and the Bushies. Who has been fired? Who has been disciplined?

Needless to say, no lives were lost in Memogate. But the irony will doubtless be lost on the Rather-bashers.

The Moose reports, you decide.
CBS admits they screwed up and fires 3 executives and a staffer. The Bush administration is responsible for what is without a doubt the biggest foreign policy clusterf*ck in US history and the guilty parties either keep their jobs or are promoted. Moose correctly points out that no one died because of "Rathergate". America's finest die daily in Iraq. Where is the outrage?
