I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

Thursday Morning Grazing

Arafat is dead, no tears but no hope that it will really change anything. That's all I have to say about that.

Want to be a Blogger? Jazz over at Running Scared tells you how in a Beginner's Guide to Bashing. Both the left side and the right side are covered.

Yuval Rubinstein over at the Left Coaster raises questions about the Democrats response to defense issues in Are We Feeling Secure Now?. Was a lack of vision the real reason Kerry lost?

Radical Clerics: Josh Marshall has some more on Bush's moral compass, James Dobson, and wonders why we refer to Islamic clerics as radical but why Pat Robertson is not referred to as the Radical Cleric Pat Robertson. I like it, I think I will from now on.

ASHCROFT NAMED AMBASSADOR TO MARS: Joe Gandelman reports that John Ashcroft has been appointed the first ever Ambassador to Mars. The perfect job for such an unearthly fellow.

Supporting the Veterans on Veterans Day: Jill at Brilliant at Breakfast tells us how we can support our veterans.

The Bush Legacy: Bull Moose talks about the legacy of George W. Bush in LBJ or Dutch?. Will Bush's teflon coating protection from incompetence continue to hold?
