Even Pat Robertson had doubts

I saw this article on Pat Robertson discussing his conversation with Bush right before the Iraq war and was going to do a post. Steve Soto over at The Left Coaster beat me to it and did a really good job so I will defer to him. Just a teaser so you will go over and check out Steve's post.

The founder of the U.S. Christian Coalition said Tuesday he told President George W. Bush before the invasion of Iraq that he should prepare Americans for the likelihood of casualties, but the president told him, "We're not going to have any casualties."

It appears that Bush's "faith based" foreign policy even took Robertson by surprise. We reported earlier that Bush's support among the religious right might be slipping.

UPDATE
Steve reports that both Scott McClellan and Karen Hughes have said Robertson was lying. It will be curious to see how this flies with the Christian wingnut base.
