I put Middle Earth Journal in hiatus in May of 2008 and moved to Newshoggers.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

Debate 3

If you believed what Bush said he probably won if you didn’t Kerry won.

Two immediate observations;

Bob Schieffer was not in control, allowed Bush to run over time, and interrupt. Bush was more aggressive than Kerry so benefited from lack of control.

Bush seemed to know a lot of figures when it came to the deficit and taxes, more than I thought he was capable of. No further comment on that.

At the beginning Bush put out the completely bogus ¾ of al-Qeuda leadership captured line , not questioned by Kerry.

Kerry brought up the outsourcing of the hunt for Osama bin Laden. Kerry said that at one point that Bush stated Osama was wanted dead or alive and 6 months later said he didn’t think about Osama. Bush said he didn’t remember that. He did say it.

Anytime the job issue came up Bush started talking about "No Child Left Behind". Kerry reminded him that it was under funded.

As I said above it will depend on how many people believed Bush that will determine the winner.
