This consolidation is obviously a result of Bush's aggressive invasion of Iraq and of the botching of the aftermath. It is a setback for the war on terror.

Bush really is a uniter
Juan Cole reports that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's group has pledged allegiance to Osama bin Laden and al-Queda. This truly is an accomplishment. Before Bush invaded Iraq the two groups hated each other. As professor Cole says:
