Why were we in such a rush in March of 2003 to go to war. Was it because Saddam was refusing to cooperate? It wasn't up to the United States to determine that - the terms of the Resolution were clear. It was up to Hans Blix to say 'he is in material breach again and we will go to the security council.' We couldn't wait for that. We had to go to war I think probably because of the administration's concern about the domestic political agenda."It may have been my imagination but Terry Gross seemed to be taken back by the statement inferring the Iraq war was all about politics.
I temporarily reopened Middle Earth Journal when Newshoggers shut it's doors but I was invited to Participate at The Moderate Voice so Middle Earth Journal is once again in hiatus.

Someone in the Media Finally Said it
Thanks to a tip from Atrios I listened to Christopher Dickey, Middle East regional editor for Newsweek, on Fresh Air today. He said on the air what many of us have been saying among ourselves, Iraq is Rove's war as much as anyone's.
